Cast of Characters, part I

Tom Marz

Tom Marz is twenty years old, stands about five feet eight, and is of average build. He has short, spiky brown hair and a beard that varies in size from a dusting along his chin to a bushy mess that crawls up the sides of his face. The amount of facial hair depends largely on how long he’s been hip-deep in an all-consuming problem. The longer he’s out-of-touch, the bigger the beard becomes.

He wears glasses, has hazel eyes, and dresses conservatively. He always wears something over his clothes, whether it’s a fleece vest or his black leather coat that has the appearance of being patch-work, with visible, uneven stitches across its surface.

He's also a magician, from a family of magicians.


Marcus Black
Marcus Black is a buisness-man, who has truck with dark powers, trading pieces of his soul to balance the books when deals go awry. He's taller than Tom, and physically powerful looking. He has styled black hair and always dresses nicely, though not always in a suit. He's sharp to Tom's laid-back, rumpled appearance. He looks like a hero, or a comic-book villain.


He-Who-Eats
A super-natural being, He-Who-Eats is a boogie man who haunted the ancestors of man. In primordial times, he was the beast who lurked at the edges of the campfires, demanding the largest portion of the day's kill, or he would take his share from the members of the tribe who wandered into the dark.

Once powerful, he is long forgotten by mankind.
